1. Before applying anti-corrosion treatment to the road signs, drilling, punching, and workshop welding of the posts and poles should be completed.
2. Road reflective traffic signs should face the direction of arrival to minimize driver glare.
3. The installation position of the poles and signs should be accurate, and the dimensional and positional errors should be within the specified range. During installation, measures should be taken to prevent damage to the surface anti-corrosion coating.
4. When reflective traffic signs are supported by posts or installed on road structure posts such as traffic lights or cantilever poles, the installation height should be 2000 mm ≤ 2500 mm. When installed in non-pedestrian areas such as median strips or green belts, the installation height should be no less than 1000 mm (new national standard 1200 mm).
5. The installation height of single-column or double-column supported linear induction targets is 1100~1300 mm.
6. When road reflective traffic signs use cantilever support, the installation height should not be less than 5000 mm, taking into account factors that increase road maintenance. When reflective traffic signs use entrance support, the height should be determined according to the road clearing height requirements. Generally, it should be above 5500 mm.
7. The installation spacing between marking plates on the same column should generally not exceed 20 mm. When marking plates are installed on both sides of the column, the lateral spacing is 1 ≤ 3 times the column diameter. When signs are installed on cantilever and column, the installation spacing is not subject to this restriction.
8. The installation angle of road signs should be adjusted according to the horizontal and vertical curves of the road. The vertical axis of signs on level or downhill elevated bridges should be slightly tilted backward.
9. Marking posts should be kept vertical, and their tilt should not exceed 0.5% of the post height, nor should they be allowed to tilt to one side of the lane.
10. The surface of the sign should not be installed within a height range of 6×3m. 10. When setting up roadside signs, they can be at a certain angle to the perpendicular line of the road centerline: 0°~10° for directional and warning signs, and 0°~45° for prohibition signs; signs above the road should be perpendicular to the road centerline, at an angle of 0°~10° to the perpendicular line of the road.
